want to see my living room?

Something amazing happened today. I was sitting on the couch when an idea came into my head. A seemingly quick and easy change to my living room: moving our striped rug from in front of the couch to the area just inside our front door. So, I got up, moved some shelves around, vacuumed, set the rug where I wanted, and replaced the shelves. I was so pleased with the results that, before I knew it, I had been bitten by the cleaning bug, and gave our whole front room a bit of a face lift. The next thing to change was a shelf that was behind the couch in my "office" area. I decided to move it into my bedroom, thus freeing up some space in our crowded living room, and getting things out of the reach of children. That was followed by the removal of a Turkish rug from my "office" floor. (Now to figure out another place for it to live.)
After that I moved our couch, which has been in the center of the room, breaking up the space, and making it seem small and cramped. I moved it under our big living room window. (But Mr. Boss doesn't like it there, so it's position will probably be temporary.)I also re-hung some pictures onto one of our walls. I'd had pictures there before, but had taken them down during one of my previous re-arranging sessions. I've been wanting to put them back for weeks, so I finally got to that. And I added something new. I recently got a bunch of 4x6 prints, and figured, if I was going to have them, I might as well display them. So I got a picture that Mr. Boss hates, took it out of the frame, and taped a bunch of pictures to it. I'm rather pleased with the result.
The room is not perfectly clean, I still have mounds of laundry to sort through, wash and put away. (I hate laundry.) My desk still needs some attention, as well as the top of our entertainment center. But this was a big step in the right direction, and I'm pretty darn proud of my days accomplishment.

Now to clean off my computer screen.Scribbles are compliments of the 19-month-old who loves to climb on mama's desk and terrorize everything in sight. Baby-zilla, that boy is.

I love getting that organizing itch. :)

It looks good! Gives me a bit of the itch myself...
